The Break Even is the point where the contribution dollars exactly equal the fixed expenses. The company has not made a profit but there are no losses either.  This is a critical number for every business and is built together & reviewed with the client.  The break even analysis will identify how much revenue the company must make before it can be profitable.  Many owners are surprised by this amount.  Some businesses are operating below break even which means they are not on track to generate enough revenue and contribution to cover the fixed costs.  Obviously this company is doomed to a short existence.
